by Kaia

Enloe Health and UC Davis Health have joined forces to advance cancer research and clinical trials in Northern California. As the newest member of the UC Davis Health Cancer Care Network, Enloe Health will now offer cutting-edge clinical trials backed by the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“The new partnership brings the latest in cancer care directly to Enloe Regional Cancer Center, allowing patients to benefit from advanced treatments without leaving their local health system,” said Susan Walsh, executive director of the UC Davis Health Affiliate Network.

“Research from UC Davis holds great promise for enhancing cancer survival and treatment,” said Sam Mazj, medical director of the Enloe Health Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center. “This partnership will unite a diverse team of scientists, medical professionals, and community partners to conduct leading-edge research and provide advanced treatment locally. It represents a beacon of hope.”

The Gonzales Comprehensive Cancer Center, a new 97,000-square-foot facility, will replace the existing Enloe Health Regional Cancer Center. The new center aims to address the urgent need for expanded cancer care services in Northern California, where cancer remains a leading cause of death.

The center will serve Northern California, from Colusa County to the Oregon border. It will feature increased patient care space, advanced treatment options, enhanced equipment, and integrated supportive therapies.

“This partnership is truly transformative,” said Primo “Lucky” Lara Jr., director of the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. “The best part is that patients will have access to advanced research without having to travel to Sacramento.”
