Tommy Walsh Provides An Update On His Health Amid His Battle With Lung Cancer

by Kaia

Tommy Walsh, star of Homes Under the Hammer, has provided an update on his battle with cancer. The 67-year-old first underwent surgery in 2002 to remove two benign lumps from his chest. Two decades later, in 2022, he faced a new challenge when diagnosed with throat cancer.

Despite initially recovering, Walsh recently disclosed that his cancer returned earlier this year, this time found beneath his lung. He has since undergone advanced NHS treatment known as SABR (stereotactic ablative radiotherapy), which targets the cancerous cells precisely without harming surrounding organs. According to Walsh, this treatment has successfully shrunk the cancer and it is now localized, with the expectation that it will diminish entirely over time.

Grateful for the effectiveness of the NHS treatment, Walsh expressed his relief that the cancer was detected early and praised the ongoing care he has received. He plans to undergo annual check-ups moving forward.

Known for his television appearances on shows like Homes Under the Hammer and Ground Force alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, Walsh shared his cancer diagnosis publicly at a charity event last November hosted by the Swallows Head and Neck Cancer charity.
