A Lincoln woman, responsible for the deaths of two maintenance workers at The Lodge Apartments in 2023, is set for another mental health evaluation.
Following a ruling by a Lancaster County judge on May 24, 28-year-old Taylor Bradley was deemed not responsible for the killings of Chris Karmazin, 42, and Ronald Gonzalez, 45, due to insanity.
Court records reveal that on Tuesday, it was determined Bradley might pose a risk to herself or others, both presently and in the foreseeable future.
Lancaster County Judge Ryan Post has instructed the Lincoln Regional Center to assess Bradley and devise a treatment plan within 90 days of her admission.
Bradley is currently held at the Lancaster County Jail and will remain there until a spot becomes available for her at the Regional Center. Upon completion of her evaluation, she will return to the jail.
The Regional Center must submit the evaluation report and treatment plan to the court ten days before the end of the evaluation period.
Bradley is due to appear at the next hearing on Aug. 23 at 11 a.m.
This marks Bradley’s second stint at the Regional Center and her third mental health evaluation since the deaths of Karmazin and Gonzalez.
Investigators responded to The Lodge on March 27, 2023, where they discovered the victims dead, seemingly after being struck by a car. Bradley was apprehended nearby and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
According to the affidavit, Bradley also attempted to harm a third maintenance worker, who has since left his job.
In the May 24 ruling, the judge determined that Bradley was experiencing severe delusions, a manic episode, and psychosis at the time of the crime. This rendered her incapable of understanding the nature and consequences of her actions, nor did she comprehend the distinction between right and wrong.
