The World Health Organization (WHO) Department of Nutrition and Food Safety invites you to participate in an informative webinar titled “Calling for Healthier Food and Food Environments at Sports Events: Civil Society and Academia.” This webinar is the second of a series of three sessions organized in conjunction with the launch of a new action guide titled “Healthier Food and Healthier Food Environments at Sports Events.” The action guide, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar, outlines five key actions to promote healthier food and food environments in and around sports stadiums.

The primary objective of this webinar is to explore the role of civil society and academia in advocating for healthier food options and environments at sports events. Civil society organizations and consumer groups play a crucial role in driving change by mobilizing support, securing political commitment, and holding stakeholders accountable for healthier food choices and environments at sporting venues. They represent the evolving preferences and demands of consumers for healthier food options during sports events.
